Key Stage 4 - Year 10 & 11

It is usually for students aged 14–16 years. During this stage, students study a broad and balanced curriculum while working towards IGCSE qualifications.

At this stage, the curriculum aims to ensure that all pupils: Acquire a secure understanding of essential knowledge and concepts. Apply their learning to solve problems and think critically. Develop creativity, communication, and independent learning skills. Prepare for further education, training, and employment.

Core Subjects

English
Students should:
Read a wide range of high-quality literature, including works from different periods and cultures.
Develop critical reading and analytical skills.
Write effectively for different audiences and purposes.
Use accurate grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
Participate confidently in spoken discussions and presentations.

Mathematics
Students should:
Become fluent in mathematical methods and calculations.
Reason mathematically and justify conclusions.
Solve routine and non-routine problems.
Apply mathematics in practical and real-life contexts.

Science
Students should:
Develop scientific knowledge and conceptual understanding.
Understand the nature, processes, and methods of science.
Apply scientific knowledge to explain phenomena.
Evaluate evidence and make informed decisions.

At the end of Key Stage 4, students take IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) examinations.
Results are usually graded on a 9–1 scale, with 9 being the highest grade.
